Thinkk studios is a Bangkok based design studio that is reinventing what it means to be “made in Thailand.” All of their designs, including chairs, tables and other furniture as well as smaller goods like pencil holders and planters, are simple in their execution yet compelling and new. That is to say they are both timeless and interesting.
On their website, they say: “Thailand has been a long-time production hub for many internationally-recognised brands although there were not nearly as many furnitures and products from Thai designers that were given the same level of recognition at the time. It had become an encouragement for us to explore product design; we attended lectures, participated in workshops, and contests, before receiving the Furniture Design Award from Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) in 2010.”
Their hard work and diligence in learning about the design field proved valuable as they have been recognized by design centers across the world including Sight Unseen, Dezeen and Designboom.
