Hey guys! Welcome to my new and improved (but really just new) blog! I’m really excited about this site and all of its potential.
As for why I’m here, I figure a bit of background information is required. I’ve recently been thinking a lot about what it means to write for an audience, especially as I’m nearing graduation (ah!!) and thinking about careers (ok but really, ahhhh!). I felt it necessary to discover what the process of public writing would look like for me, and after a lot of thinking, I decided it would be best to start a blog.
To be quite frank, I’m not sure that I’ve come to a conclusion about this blog. I mean, I’m not exactly sure why I’m here. I don’t have an overarching theme or a question that I’m going to be interrogating. I don’t have a particular niche or qualification that should draw readers to flock to each new post. I don’t even know if any of this actually matters, and I’ll admit, the concept of sending my careful, fragile sentences into the world is daunting as hell. One thing I can say with certainty, though, is that this site will function as a place where just about anything can be seen as "right" as long as it's rooted in the proper perspective. Coffee or tea? Whichever feels right. Can't decide what to wear? Just choose what feels right. As a huge believer in the "gut instinct," I'm hoping we can navigate through this world and follow the path that feels deeply right.
